Tana Toraja is probably the biggest tourist centre in Sulawesi. Theres a lot to see here.Its world-renowned for its unique cultural traditions, particularly its elaborate funeral rites and traditional "Tongkonan" houses with boat-shaped roofs.The landscapes are stunning. Great riding can be had riding through the small rural villages.

Mountain pass between Wonosobo and Dieng.Spectacular scenery.Sembungan is the highest village in Java at an altitude of 2463 metres

Great mountain scenery. Geothermal energy plants, pipelines & vents add some interest.Initially rough ashphalt climbing from the south then rocky jeep track over the pass. Steep and challenging in a few places on a loaded adventure bike.

Lamalera, located on Indonesia's Lembata Island, is one of the world's few surviving traditional, subsistence-based whaling communities. Using hand-thrown bamboo harpoons from handmade wooden boats, locals hunt sperm whales and other marine life. Its a wild place. Hunters - not fishermen.Great trails in and out.

Beach camping. The whole stretch of coastlne here for about 10km  has beautiful beaches with small 'warung'/shops some with toilets and rudimentary showers where you can pay to pitch your tent. Wild camping here is also an option .Reccommend taking one of the steep narrow roads up or down through the clove plantations to / from Lake Tondano where there are guesthouses and camping also.

Iconic bike riding area. Hundreds of enduro trails.Access to restaurants, hotels & view points above the caldora is by fun steep narrow surfaced roads from north, south and west . You can access by one route and leave by another if you are on a bike. Not sure about 4 wheels.Easier in the rainy season when the sand is more compact. Still fairly difficult with a fully laden Adv bike.
