Mhor 84 is what used to be the Kingshouse Hotel on the A84 – a spot that’s been a safe haven for travellers for over 300 years. In April 2013 the lewis family created the perfect pit stop and affordable motel on the A84, Cycle Route 7, and Rob Roy Way.Mhor 84 has a stripped-back atmosphere with a fun mix of antiques and modern furnishings, plus a big garden seating area for summer days. The motel offers 11 rooms plus a holiday cottage at an affordable price. It’s a welcoming, friendly place for travellers, walkers, cyclists, joggers, dogs and locals to stay, or simply meet, eat and enjoy a bun, or a dram, or breakfast, or a gourmet meal, or just a properly made flat white.Food and drinks are served all day from 8am until 9pm, satisfying everyone from big breakfast hunters to shellfish-loving galloping gourmets. We make hearty lunches, cakes come from our sister bakery Mhor Bread in Callander and evening meals are anything from Scotch Beef to Loch Carron Turbot. Roaring log fires are lit and a lounge area keeps the young and young-at-heart entertained with a TV, wi-fi, toys and board games. There’s also live music every week on ‘Thank Folk it’s Thursday’. Craigston Castle is thought to belong to the Bell Group of Scottish castles, forming “perhaps Scotland’s finest and the most distinctive contribution to western architecture” (H. Gordon Slade). The Urquhart family is one of the oldest in Scotland and can be traced back to Adam Urquhart the sheriff of Cromarty in 1357. However, according to the great Sir Thomas Urquhart (1611-1660) translator of Rabelais, the family can even be traced back to Adam and Eve through remarkable ancestors including Esormon Ourochartos (Prince of Achaia who married Narfesid, Sovereign of the Amazons) and Bithiah, the Pharaoh's daughter who found Moses in the bulrushes. These fantastic claims are symptomatic of the family’s fondness for the romantic and the strange.

Experience this UNESCO World Heritage site bathed in the morning sun or beneath an autumn starry sky. The 5-kilometer road to Dalsnibba was completed in 1939 and stands as one of Norway’s most ambitious road-building projects. Navigating its 11 hairpin bends and a gradient of approximately 10% is an experience in itself—a fitting prelude to the spectacular sights awaiting you at the summit.

Inside the center you will find: • Large souvenir and gift shop • Bistro • Cinema • Toilets.With food service and a large souvenir shop, the Arctic Circle Center is a natural stopping point on your journey across Saltfjellet and the Arctic Circle. The Arctic Circle Center is situated right next to the Artic Circle monument on Saltfjellet, making it a natural stopping point for everyone who wants to mark crossing this special border into the Arctic. Souvenir shop and Arctic Bistro Inside the Center, you’ll find the Arctic Bistro, where you can pick between a large selection of dinners mainly made with reindeer meat, like a reindeer burger, flat iron reindeer steak, reindeer stew, or souvas. In addition, they also serve classic family favorites like hamburgers, loaded baked potatoes, and salmon pasta. They also have a large souvenir shop, with loads of nice gifts, locally made products and a good selection of clothes fit for the Nordic weather. It’s just perfect for the one that might’ve forgotten something at home, or if you spontaneously decide you want to go on a mountain hike while you’re there. You can also send postcards home to loved ones, sporting the Artic Circle postmark, you can also purchase your own exclusive certificate as proof that you have crossed the border into the Arctic regions. 

This is the starting point of adventure rally route. You can also camp here overnight along the lake. and there is a toilet facilities available. It was all free when i camped there.

An old cottage just beside Rausjødalen Setermeieri that you can rent for the night. Ask the old man that own and is daily managing Rausjødalen Setermeieri for accomodation. I think i paid around 700-800 kr for a night in the summer of 2025.

It offers a glimpse of a natural landscape that—ranging from fertile, deep valleys to barren high mountains and glaciers—is among the most diverse in all of Norway.  The exhibition presents the evolution of glaciers and the climate over time in an engaging, informative, and interactive way. It also illustrates how glaciers have shaped the landscape and what it is like to live near a glacier and utilize its resources. In the cinema, they screen a film that takes you on a journey beneath, across, and around the Jostedalsbreen glacier through the changing seasons. Food and Drink After a long day out and about, enjoy a delicious meal with a view of the Nigardsbreen glacier. Our lunch restaurant serves homemade dishes prepared with regional ingredients. On Sundays, we offer a special menu featuring a rotating selection of interesting dishes. The lunch restaurant accommodates both small and large groups. We would be happy to provide a quote for group menus upon request.
