The Tropic of Cancer is an imaginary line of latitude at approximately 23.4° North of the Equator, marking the northernmost point where the sun is directly overhead at noon during the June solstice, defining the edge of Earth's tropical zone, and passing through parts of North America, Africa, and Asia.
