Walvisbunker
Historic / Ruins, Monument
Europe Netherlands
Locals call it the Walvisbunker. Dutch for Whale bunker. The name was given due to its unique structure. It was a very important commando centre of the Nazi regime during WW2 and pretty much a one of a kind (unique bunker). In the area there are a very large amount of Nazi structures still present. Many can been freely explored, others are open on certain days or after making an appointment. It is an impressive building and area. Well worth some exploration. Due bare in mind, you can park close by, but after fences, motorised vehicles are not allowed. You have to go on foot.
