Lankow - destroyed village

was a small German village on the inner-German border that was completely destroyed and razed by GDR border troops in 1976. Starting in 1952, the residents were forcibly resettled because the village lay within the restricted border zone and stood in the way of the expansion of border fortifications.

There are still some ground Tales visible, the people from Lankow were deeply traumatised to lose their Village, which was founded in the 13. century.
