About this place
Lost Place Camp Konrad
The structure—built only to the shell stage and never completed—was intended for the private use of Chancellor Konrad Adenauer; the building application was submitted to the Prüm District Office on July 11, 1955, as "Project LS/36/55," designated as the "new construction of a hunting, weekend, and guest house near Duppach." The building is situated between the municipalities of Duppach and Steffeln; construction of the elaborate villa—featuring a total living area of 600 square meters—began there in 1955 on a 2,000-square-meter plot of land in the Kammerwald forest.
Some corruption rumors stopped the project.
