Breheimsenteret

The Breheimsenter is located at the entrance to the Nigardsbreen Nature Reserve, overlooking the distinctive Nigardsbreen glacier tongue.

The exhibition provides information about these special protected areas. It offers a glimpse of a natural landscape that—ranging from fertile, deep valleys to barren high mountains and glaciers—is among the most diverse in all of Norway. 

 The exhibition presents the evolution of glaciers and the climate over time in an engaging, informative, and interactive way. It also illustrates how glaciers have shaped the landscape and what it is like to live near a glacier and utilize its resources. In the cinema, they screen a film that takes you on a journey beneath, across, and around the Jostedalsbreen glacier through the changing seasons. 

Food and Drink After a long day out and about, enjoy a delicious meal with a view of the Nigardsbreen glacier. Our lunch restaurant serves homemade dishes prepared with regional ingredients. On Sundays, we offer a special menu featuring a rotating selection of interesting dishes. The lunch restaurant accommodates both small and large groups. We would be happy to provide a quote for group menus upon request.
