The deal gives Bajaj Auto International Holdings B.V. (BAIH) full ownership of Pierer Bajaj AG, plus a controlling stake in Pierer Mobility AG – the group behind KTM, Husqvarna, and GasGas. This change came after BAIH used an option to buy all the shares owned by Pierer Industrie AG, with the transaction getting regulatory approval earlier this year.

With this, the Indian company now holds 74.9% of Pierer Mobility’s shares, effectively putting them in charge of Europe’s largest motorcycle maker by volume. Pierer Bajaj AG will be renamed Bajaj Auto International Holdings AG, and Pierer Mobility AG is expected to become Bajaj Mobility AG by mid-2026. Back in May, Bajaj also injected just over £700 million to keep KTM running during a rough restructuring phase. That period involved major cutbacks and set the stage for the new governance structure now taking shape.

As part of cost-cutting, the group have already offloaded Felt Bicycles, ending KTM’s remaining involvement in the bicycle sector. Racing has received a welcome boost. KTM recently renewed their long-standing partnership with DHL Express, securing backing for the factory enduro squad through to 2028, with their 2026 Dakar line-up also to be announced soon.
