Bartang Harskamp – More Than Just a Motorcycle Store

Bartang Harskamp – Built by Adventure Riders, for Adventure Riders. Over the years I've visited plenty of motorcycle shops, but Bartang feels different. This isn't just a store selling gear—it's a place run by people who have spent years traveling the world on motorcycles and know firsthand what works when the adventure really begins. Whether you're looking for luggage, navigation equipment, riding gear, or advice for your next trip, you'll find practical knowledge backed by real-world experience. There's no hard selling, just honest advice from riders who understand life on the road. For me, Bartang has become more than a shop. It's a source of inspiration, a place to talk travel, discover new gear, and start planning the next adventure. If you're an ADV rider passing through the Veluwe, it's well worth a stop.

Bartang Harskamp – More Than Just a Motorcycle Store
As adventure riders, we're always looking for the next route, the next modification, or the next piece of gear that will make life easier when the pavement ends.
Over the years I've visited plenty of motorcycle shops, but every now and then you find a place that feels different.
For me, that place is Bartang in Harskamp.
The first thing you notice when you walk in is that this isn't a showroom built by marketing people. It's a shop built by riders. Real riders. The kind who have actually packed their bikes, pointed them at the horizon, and disappeared for months. And that's exactly what makes Bartang special.

The people behind Bartang spent years traveling around the world by motorcycle. Not a holiday ride. Not a guided tour. A real round-the-world adventure covering thousands of kilometers through deserts, mountains, remote villages, and everything in between.

When they recommend a piece of gear, it's usually because they've used it themselves somewhere on the other side of the planet. That experience shows. Need luggage for a long-distance trip? They'll ask where you're going and how you travel before suggesting anything.
Looking for navigation equipment? They'll explain what actually works when you're hundreds of kilometers from the nearest highway.
Planning your first adventure ride abroad? Chances are they've already been there and can offer advice you won't find in any brochure.

The name Bartang itself comes from the famous Bartang Valley in Tajikistan, a place that sits high on the bucket list of many adventure riders. If you know what the Pamir Highway is, you'll immediately understand why that name was chosen. It perfectly captures the spirit of the shop: adventure, exploration, and taking the road less traveled.
What I personally appreciate most is that Bartang doesn't try to sell you stuff you don't need. Instead, they focus on gear that has proven itself in the real world. The kind of equipment that survives rain in Norway, dust in Morocco, and endless corrugated tracks somewhere far from home. The shop has become a bit of a destination in itself. Whenever I'm riding through the Veluwe, I often find an excuse to stop by. Sometimes I need something for the bike. Sometimes I just want to look around, talk motorcycles, and gather inspiration for the next trip.
Because that's what Bartang really sells. Not gear. Adventure.
The gear is simply what helps you get there. So whether you're preparing for a weekend on the TET, a week in the Ardennes, or a six-month journey across continents, Bartang is worth a visit. Not because it's a motorcycle store, but because it feels like a place created by people who understand exactly why we ride. And in today's world, that's becoming increasingly rare. See you somewhere down the road.
