River Beach Loriga

The scenery around Loriga River Beach is simply wonderful. 

The beach, which is basically a series of small river pools, is situated in a glacial valley and surrounded by imposing mountains that make us feel so small. 

The water that feeds the pools comes from the Loriga River and is so clear and crystalline that it makes us wonder if we are in more tropical latitudes. However, a single dip is enough to confirm that we are in the heart of the Serra da Estrela mountain range. 

 Despite the cold water, this is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful river beaches in Portugal.
