El Platanal

This is a great place to camp by the side of the river, we were here during the week and there was no one else camping, it's probably busier on the weekends. The last 2-3 km dropping down into the valley are difficult due to the tight switchbacks, loose rocks and rain rutted road.  There is a store/restaurant down there but we didn't see anyone around, perhaps it's only open on weekends. We found enough small sticks to be able to have a campfire, the ground is mostly sand where we camped. It was around 30 degrees (Celsius) but drops down to around 17 overnight (August). The water was not very deep and was warm.
