The DMD<sup>2</sup> App is now free! Yes you read it right!
The DMD2 app is now free! You can install the app on any Android device and you can use it completely for free, without the need to buy any plugin, only a limited set of features require the map subscription.
For user with a DMD Navigation device, our app has always been included, free, fully unlocked, no change to this. For users with other devices it was required to buy our app from the Play Store.
We used to have a single purchase Roadbook plugin, another plugin purchase for the OBD View and finally a map subscription to be able to use the map for more than 15 minutes. This has now changed!
- Roadbook View is free.
- OBD View is free.
- Map is no longer limited to 15 minutes demo.
- There is no more overlays asking you buy any plugin!
Are there still paid features? Sure, there is still the same map subscription, but its optional now. So what is the map subscription for you might ask... Basically for everything that needs a paid API and for online features that have a high maintenance cost:
- Group Ride.
- Online Address Search.
- Online Layers (Sat view / Hillshading / etc).
- Fire and Emergency Alerts.
- Anything that uses Weather APIs.
If you own a DMD device, the map subscription is not required, it is included!
You can install DMD2 on any Android device, use it for as long as you want, download the offline maps you need, follow the GPX you want, plan the trips you want, do whatever you want with it.
