Dunlop Trailmax Raid – The Tire That Makes You Question Your Limits

Disclaimer. This is my personal take on the Dunlop Trailmax Riad. it is my own opinion en experience.

I've been riding these tires myself for about 10000 km  mainly on asphalt (70%  onroad and 30%  offroad) and  the next set will be fitted shortly.
The Dunlop Trailmax Raid in my opinion sits right in that sweet spot every adventure rider is chasing… and rarely finds. This is a tire that looks like it belongs in the dirt........but rides like it forgot :)

On the road, it’s almost unsettling how good it is. Grip is strong, feedback is confidence-inspiring, and stability under load or lean is far better than you’d expect from a 50/50 tire. You don’t ride around its limitations........You ride like you normally would, and the tire just keeps up.  I sometimes literally forget its a 50/50 tire  because of the grip it has on the Asphalt ..
Wet conditions? Surprisingly solid as well. After 10K it has never give me "an shit" moment in the wet.
Then you leave the tarmac.......and this is where it earns its name Gravel, rocks, hardpack… the Raid just digs in and goes. It delivers real off-road confidence, especially for mid weight adventure bikes  like my 700 Transalp. I think it will also handle similar on bigger adventure bikes, but I dont own one so I couldn't tell you....
It’s not a full enduro tire, but it’s far more capable than most riders will ever fully exploit.
Push into deep sand or thick mud and you’ll start to feel its limits aspecially the front will start to drif / slide more and  gunk up in the mud. And if you ride hard (or like spinning the rear for fun), don’t expect miracles from tire life. The rear wears noticeably faster than the front, which is pretty typical for this category—but still worth mentioning
My overall personal verdict :
The Trailmax Raid isn’t trying to be perfect......It’s trying to be useful everywhere. And that’s exactly what it delivers. It’s a tire that lets you ride to the trail, push hard when you get there, and ride home without feeling like you compromised anything. If your riding is truly mixed—this is one of the most convincing “do-it-all” adventure tires out there right now in my opinion.
And thus a Real good Tire choice that  will do everything  you want is to do if you dont want to swap tires of rimes everytime you want to go off the beaten path. .

Have you Riden these tires?????
What are your experiences with the Trailmax Raid.  Let me know in the comments.

I´v only had my set of Dunlop trailmax raid on for 4500km, but my feeling is very similar as you "It’s trying to be useful everywhere" and it´s doing it very well in my experience. Most important is that I feel confident with them. Wet cold tarmac is my weak spot and i feel that they are doing a good job there.

100% love my Raids! I've had them on my 790 ADV R for 2,000 miles. They give confidence in aggressive road riding and are very stable on the fire roads I ride locally here in Los Angeles. Less noisy on the pavement than the Motoz/606 combo I had on the bike before.

I have the Raid's as well on my second wheel set, mainly for travels with mixed surface. Love them as well, but yet to get experience of the milage to expect. What do you get out of yours?
On the first more off-road oriented wheel set I have the Dunlop D908RR's, really like them as well for off-road focused travels and the local ride outs.

Cant really say with certainty yet Mattias. but this is my second set and on both Rear tires i've clocked 15000 km and then the centre of the tire is at it's minimum depth.
side of the tire still has life left in them

I compared the Trail Max Raid to the Trail Max Mission on 2 Tenere 700 at the same trip from Berlin to the Carpartian Mountains and back. The Trip was oriented on badly roads.
The tire was good enough to do the 4500km trip and a little bit more (~6500km). But he is scary on deep tarmac scratches.
For next Bad-Roadtrip to Sweden and Norway i was going back to the K60 Scout. Same versatile and more mileage (15000-17000km).
