THE PATH IS MADE BY WALKING

Today I want to talk about a couple — a young couple who, in order to escape an empty life — not lacking comfort, but weighed down by depression, sadness, and that feeling of not doing anything truly fulfilling — decided to take control and carve out their own path.
Tânia, Marco, and Spike (a brave little Chihuahua) set off over four years ago to travel the world by motorcycle, leaving Luxembourg and heading east.
Their philosophy has always been to live experiences, explore each country’s landscapes, meet people, understand their customs, learn their culture… and leave a mark through their simple way of living and traveling.

As Antonio Machado once said, “the path is made by walking,” and this trio has already covered more than 100,000 km across three continents, visiting 48 countries and collecting thousands of moments that give meaning to their lives — while inspiring the rest of us to do better for ourselves and for those around us.

Sadly, Spike now travels only in the hearts of Marco and Tânia.
Life — or fate — has taken his physical presence away from us.

They are likely now heading toward the African continent, probably moving north, searching for the North Star to guide them back home, just like the Portuguese navigators once did…
I don’t write these words without emotion.
There’s joy, but also deep admiration — because there’s always someone out there willing to step onto the road and enrich humanity through simple values: humility, a simple life, and the ability to spread kindness across the world.

To Marco and Tânia — my respect, and thank you for the lesson.
