Steindalsfossen (Walk behind a Waterfall)
Norway Europe View Point Paved
Walk safely and stay dry while passing behind one of Norway's most popular waterfalls. Steinsdalsfossen, near Norheimsund, is easily accessible right next to the road. Steinsdalsfossen is one of the most frequently visited waterfalls and has a drop of 50 meters. Its unique feature is that you can walk along the path behind the waterfall without getting wet. The waterfall was formed in 1699 when the river changed its course. You can take a pleasant walk from the parking area up to the path behind the waterfall. It is located along the Hardanger National Tourist Route.

Gudbrandsjuvet
Gudbrandsjuvet
Norway Europe Restaurant Paved
The viewpoint at Gudbrandsjuvet is beautifully situated between Valldal and Trollstigen, with steep mountain slopes, the river, and the gorge right nearby. Gudbrandsjuvet is a gorge—5 meters wide and 20–25 meters deep—carved by the Valldøla River. Conveniently located on National Road 63 between Valldal and Trollstigen, it can be explored via secured paths and a pedestrian bridge. The water has shaped a system of deep potholes and bizarre rock formations here. The gorge is roughly as deep below the water's surface as it is above. According to a 16th-century legend, the gorge was named after a man named Gudbrand, who was attempting to flee with a bride he had abducted. He managed to escape his pursuers by making a daring leap across the narrowest point of the gorge. Gudbrand was subsequently declared an outlaw and spent the rest of his life in a stone hut above Gudbrandsjuvet, in a side valley still known today as Gudbrandstal. The legend does not reveal whether Gudbrand managed to take the bride with him across the gorge.

Famous Lysevegen with parking and rest-place
Norway Europe Restaurant Paved
Motorcycles can park for free for one hour. To the left of the barrier, the asphalt is marked "MC" to allow entry and exit without passing through the barrier. At the far end on the left, there is a large area—also marked "MC"—for parking.Lysevegen in Lysebotn offers an unforgettable journey through Norway's majestic landscape. Lysevegen is one of Norway's most spectacular mountain roads. It winds its way from Lysebotn on the Lysefjord, over impressive mountain peaks and through a moon-like landscape, before ending in charming Sirdal. With its 27 hairpin bends and an elevation change of over 900 meters, the road offers an unforgettable driving experience. Since the opening of the Suleskard Road in 1990, the area has become more accessible, making Lysevegen a must-visit for both Norwegian and international travelers.  Construction of Lysevegen Construction of Lysevegen began in the early 1980s as part of the Tjodan power plant project. The greatest challenge was traversing the difficult terrain known as "Råså" at the foot of the mountain. The solution: a unique corkscrew tunnel that winds beneath Råså before the road emerges onto the "Okslå" mountain ledge. From here, you can enjoy the spectacular hairpin bends and fantastic views of Lysedal, Lysebotn, and the Lysefjord. Øygardstøl Viewpoint and Starting Point for the Kjerag Hike At the top of the bends lies Øygardstøl, a popular viewpoint and the perfect starting point for hikes to Kjeragbolten and Nesatindane. Beyond Øygardstøl, the road continues for 25 kilometers through moon-like landscapes before descending into Sirdal. From there, you can drive via Suleskard to Setesdal, through Sirdal to Egersund, or via Hunnedalen towards Byrkjedal, Jæren, and Stavanger.  Practical Information about Lysevegen Lysevegen is a seasonal road. It usually closes in November when the snow arrives and reopens in late May after being cleared. When the road opens in spring, the walls of snow can reach several meters in height—a real highlight! The road is narrow and winding, so drive carefully and watch out for oncoming traffic. There are several rest stops along the way where you can take your time enjoying the breathtaking scenery. From Lysebotn to Sirdal The road begins in Lysebotn at the head of the Lysefjord and extends to Sirdal in Vest-Agder. It is part of County Road 500 and is easily accessible by car. For the ultimate experience, combine the drive with a ferry trip through the Lysefjord. Experience one of Norway’s most impressive roads and be captivated by the magnificent engineering and natural beauty along Lysevegen.

Norway Europe View Point Unpaved - Easy / Compacted
A very nice parking area with a small restroom building and a stunning view of Jøssingfjord. Benches for sitting and eating are available. A short distance below the site, there is a café by the famous Helleren houses nestled beneath the rock overhang.Jøssingfjord Jøssingfjord became known due to the *Altmark* Incident, which took place there on February 16, 1940: a German military supply ship was boarded by a British naval vessel, and British prisoners of war were liberated. The *Altmark* Incident served as a pretext for the German decision to attack and occupy Norway. During World War II, the term "Jøssing" was used to refer to anti-Nazi Norwegians, in reference to the *Altmark* Incident. Jøssingfjord also houses a shipping port for Titania AS, a company that operates an open-pit mine and a processing plant for titanium ore. The fjord is surrounded by steep mountain slopes and terminates in a large field of scree. If you drive along the North Sea route between Egersund and Flekkefjord, the small houses beneath the massive rock—Helleren in Jøssingfjord—are clearly visible.

Two main spots are particularly popular among bikers in and around Plön. The options range from a quick meeting point right by the water to the region's ultimate cult hangout: Right in Plön, the snack bar at the Kleiner Plöner See (Ascheberger Straße/B 430, at the edge of town heading towards Neumünster) offers a great view of the water. It is a popular gathering place for "petrolhead" conversations, especially on summer evenings and weekends.
